Medijel gel contains two active ingredients, lidocaine hydrochloride and aminoacridine hydrochloride. Aminoacridine hydrochloride is a mild antiseptic that kills a variety of bacteria that might infect sore or broken skin in the mouth. Lidocaine hydrochloride belongs to a group of medicines known as local anaesthetics. It works by temporarily blocking the pathway of pain signals along nerves.
