MEBO Gold markedly reduces evaporation from the wound surface. Therefore, provides good hydration that is necessary for the migration of epidermal cells, increased partial pressure of oxygen, and preservation of growth factors present in fluid exudate. Besides, MEBO Gold has been shown to enhance debridement, and hence optimizing the wound healing process.  In addition, MEBO Gold offers an additional antimicrobial effect through the added herbal constituents; Coptidis Rhizoma and Phellodendri Chinensis Cortex (containing berberine HCl) and Scutellariae Radix (containing baicalein) which has been shown to provide antibacterial and antifungal effects.  MEBO Gold ointment also offers an anti-inflammatory effect through the components of the base as well as the herbal additives.

How to use Mebo Gold : For Chronic wounds including bed ulcers, diabetic foot, and leg ulcers.  A sterile gauze should be impregnated with MEBO Gold and should fill the cavity of the ulcer, to be applied once daily or as needed.  • For the dressing of wounds of surgical procedures MEBO Gold should cover the wound in a relatively thick layer (about 3 mm) under a sterile dressing and applied once daily, or as directed by the doctor.  • For Superficial and partial thickness local burns and acute wounds MEBO Gold should be applied as immediately as possible. A thin layer (about 1 mm thickness) should cover the affected area and be applied 3 times daily.  It is better to keep the wound exposed, but if there is a need, a light dressing can be used and a relatively thicker layer (about 3 mm thickness) should be applied once daily.

Ingredients : MEBO Gold is of natural and herbal edible origin. It is composed of Coptidis Rhizoma (Coptis Chinensis Franch), Phellodendri Chinensis Cortex (Phellodendron chinense Schneid) and Scutellariae Radix (Scutellaria baicalensis Georgi).  Other ingredients: Sesame oil and cera flava (Bees wax)
