Betadine Scalp & Skin Cleanser 125 ml

BETADINE Scalp and Skin Cleanser are indicated for:

Seborrheic conditions of skin and scalp, acne vulgaris, and other pyogenic skin conditions.

General disinfection of the skin (as liquid soap).

Dosage & Administration

Route of administration: For topical use only.

Adults, the elderly, and children.

For treating conditions of the hair and scalp:

Thoroughly wet the hair. Apply as a shampoo to the hair and scalp, rubbing well in. Allow remaining on the scalp for at least five minutes, rinsing off with warm water. Reapply and work up into a rich lather before rinsing again. Repeat twice weekly until improvement is noted. Afterwards, use once weekly.

For conditions of face, neck, and body:

Apply directly or with a moistened sponge. Cleanse area thoroughly. Repeat application. Rinse with warm water and dry with a clean or sterile towel or gauze. Use twice daily (morning and evening) until improvement is noted. Afterwards use once daily.

The use of the product is contraindicated in Infants under 2 years of age.

Precautions:

Povidone-iodine should not cover for a long period large areas of the skin (e.g., not to more than 10% of the total body surface and for no longer than 14 days) unless strictly indicated. Even after the end of the treatment (up to 3 months), one should look for the early symptoms of possible hyperthyroidism and if necessary the thyroid function should be monitored.

Special caution is needed when regular applications to broken skin are made to patients with pre-existing renal insufficiency.

Avoid solutions containing a detergent if treating open wounds with povidone-iodine. - For external use only. In instances of local irritation or sensitivity, discontinue use.
