Description

SISSEL® exercise mats are produced primarily from NBR (nitrile butyl rubber), a closed cell foam (synthetic rubber) with many positive characteristics. The material features non-skid support, high durability, extra grip for more stability and excellent cushioning for superb shock absorbance for many years of safe exercising. It is easy to clean and has a high resistance to oils and acidy substances.
The SISSEL® exercise mat material contains a unique formula which allows us to produce our mats without harmful phthalates, a group of very controversial plasticizers. The mat is free of volatile, organic compounds.
The non-harmful and eco-friendly material used for the SISSEL® exercise mat has a characteristic scent which will quickly evaporate after opening the product packaging. If the room temperature is relatively high and the scent is considered too strong, new mats should be aired some time before use.
Changes in temperatures during transport and storage may cause NBR to shrink or expand. Ambient temperatures below 20°C or consistent low temperatures may result in some shrinking. We therefore recommend storing the mat at regular room temperature, if not in use.
In the interest of quality maintenance we recommend not exposing your mat to extremely low or high temperatures or direct sun light.
Before first use: Before placing your SISSEL® exercise mat on the floor of your home or studio, please check the manufacturer€™s recommendation. Some floors (for example, linoleum, cork, untreated wood) feature open-celled surfaces and therefore react to NBR, as used in many sports mats or even chairs leg protectors.The result might be stains on the floor especially if dark colored mats are used.
